We are all busy and it can seem overwhelming to add exercising to our already busy day.   Exercise doesn’t have to be hours at the gym, exercise can happen anytime and anywhere you just have to get moving.   You can even exercise while standing in the line at the grocery store by flexing your arm and leg muscles.  Below are 4 tips on how to begin adding exercise to your daily routine.

  1. Start slow- There is no rule that says that you have to start out doing 30-60 minutes if exercise.  You can begin by doing squats for 1-2 minutes at your desk during your break.  Once you have mastered that move on to either doing squats for a longer period of time or adding in another exercise such as triceps dips off your chair.  Keep building from there by adding longer time or new exercises.
  2. Make it fun- Exercise doesn’t have to burpees, lifting weights or going for long runs.  It could be as simple as running around the back yard with your kids for an hour playing tag.  Exercise could also be playing a game of tennis or going for a family walk.
  3. Schedule it-The best way to make sure you get your exercise each day is to put it on your calendar. This includes play time with the kids.  If you already have the time scheduled it makes it easier to make sure it happens.

The best exercise to do-  The best type of exercise is the one that you will do no matter what it is.  If you don’t enjoy what you are doing you won’t make it part of your routine.
